You can define the ability of both static and dynamic IP addresses allocation within each IP 

pool. Dynamic allocation means that an IP address allocated for a VPS  is being released after a 

VPS is stoped and when a VPS starts again it receives the dynamic IP address. Dynamic 

allocation is useful for trial VPSs. Static IP addresses are being allocated permanently and can be 

released only manually. 

IP pools can be assigned to specific resellers or hardware nodes or types of hosting: 

Assigning an IP pool to a specific type of hosting means that IP addresses from this IP pool 

will be used for provisioning of particular type of services. This assignment is exclusive, i.e., 

it is not possible to assign an IP pool to several types of hosting. You can allocate an IP pool 

for: 

Virtuozzo VPSs and define whether dynamic or static IP addresses allocation is allowed. 

Name based Virtuozzo VPSs and define whether dynamic or static IP addresses 

allocation is allowed. 

Plesk shared hosting. 

Assigning an IP pool to a reseller means that customers of this reseller will use IP addresses 

from the IP pool assigned. 

Assigning an IP pool to a Hardware Node means that IP addresses from the IP pool assigned 

will be allocated to VPSs hosted on this Hardware Node only.This is extremely useful if you 

have different network segments in your infrastructure. In this case, you can assign particular 

IP pools to corresponding Hardware Nodes in segment. In case VPSs will be migrated from 

one Hardware Node to another, IP addresses will be reassigned automatically. 

Establishing Connection with Hardware 

To establish connection with servers (in terms of HSPcomplete, Hardware Nodes) that host  

Virtuozzo VPSs and Plesk domains or run the third party software, it is necessary to register 

them in HSPcomplete.
