Styling Web Pages

Now that we have created an unordered list and applied Heading 2 for all of 

our subheadings, let's go ahead and begin styling our Web pages.

Styling a Web page is an important task that every Web developer is con 

fronted with. When HTML was the only standard language for the Web pages, 

it was used both for structure and styling. This double usage quickly cluttered 

the code and made it confusing for developers. To clear up the confusion, a 

new language was created to exclusively deal with the structure, XHTML. The 

coding of the style was left to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). 

Creating an External Style Sheet

CSS is better integrated to FrontPage 2003 than in previous versions. CSS can 

be applied in three different ways; inline styles, embedded styles, and external 

styles. In today's workshop, we will create an external style sheet.

  File,   New

You will see that the task pane opens up on the right with the available 

options for a new document.
