Specify width
Width of table, amount of Web
page that table consumes
We can specify table width
in pixels
, which is a fixed value, or
in percent
,
which allows for more flexibility. For example, we could set the table to
occupy 50% of the Web page no matter what size the browser window.
Designing tables to use proportional widths is better practice because it
assures that the table will adjust to modify the display of different users and
their display devices.
We don't want it to appear obvious that the table is in fact a table so we'll set
the Border value, Cell padding, and Cell spacing to zero. Keep in mind that
any of these table settings can be changed after the table has been inserted.

Adding a New Row
Eventually
index.htm
will contain two relative links, an absolute link to an
external site, and a logo. We want one link in each cell of the second column,
so let's add two more rows to the table. There are several ways to add a new
row or column to a table. We could modify the table from the Menu bar, but
let's see how to use context sensitive menus to quickly modify table
properties.
