Using a Heading Style
An
HTML style
is a combination of font formatting and paragraph attributes
gathered under one name. There are six pre defined
heading styles
 that com
bine a certain font size with bold formatting. All heading styles also include a
hard return and are followed by a blank line. Heading 1 is the largest and
Heading 6 is the smallest. The exact properties are determined by the Web
browser. For example, a user can set their browser to display Heading 1 in any
font face from Arial to Times New Roman.
Rather than changing individual font attributes, we'll use a heading style to
format the header text. This will also add better structure to the page.
Since the page header is a central element, we want it to stand out. Let's see
how to apply the Heading 1 style to the header text.
1.
Position the cursor on the header text line that says
Midwest Search
and Recovery
.
2.
To apply the style, on the Style drop down list,

, Heading 1
You see the text is larger and bold.
Formatting Text
Now let's see how to apply individual formatting attributes to text. We'll
change the size and color of the body text.
