FrontPage 2000 

FrontPage is Microsoft's solution to a Web publication tool. It has all the trademarks of 

Microsoft Office product and works well with other applications in the Office suite. It 

performs all major Web publishing tasks, but nothing very sophisticated.  Compared to 

other Web authoring tools, FrontPage has the advantages of simplicity and the consistent 

look and feel of other Microsoft products.  The screen below illustrates this point:

FrontPage Server Extensions 

FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) is a piece of software residing on a Web server that 

extends the functionality of a Web server by allowing some features generated by FrontPage 

such as ASP.  Both IIS 4 for NT and PWS Version 4 for Windows 9x come with FPSE as a 

component.  Prior to IIS 4 and PWS V4, FPSE had to be installed separately.
