Ever thought of writing your own game and then come to the realization, Oh I can't code , than
loosing that thought while going back to play a game someone else has made? Well Sawblade
Software may have a solution for game writer wannabe's with Power Game Factory (PGF). It is
royalty free and you can run the game without the software. Sound interesting?
Power Game Factory allows you to make 2D sidescrolling shooter for the Mac. Games that can
be created like the original Mario Brothers, Metroid and the original Duke Nukem series on the
PC. PGF lets you have virtually total creative control from the background music to character
animations to cutscenes.
The interface is laid out very nicely for the buttons you need to access. Any section of the game
that you can configure are laid out on the top of the screen and referred to as the toolbar. This
toolbar is something you will use frequently in your game creation. For example, clicking on the
levels button allows you to design the levels in the game. It allows you to select character
placement, add scenery and add characters to that level. This is done by clicking the appropriate
button, than selecting where you want to put them. If you don't like the placement, you can move
them easily by dragging and dropping. It's all really quite easy, with no programming
experience necessary.
