Online Grantmaking/Online Donor Information 

Only 14 percent (44 of 311) of grantmakers today have some type of online grants 

application process. This compares to 81 percent of grantmakers who have grants 

management/gifts management software (Table A 10). Of those that do have online 

grants application software (44), most (29, or 67%) have developed their own custom 

solution. The other 15 are divided among the commercially available products. For this 

reason, sorting out how to handle online grant applications and online donor information 

was the challenge/emerging issue cited most often by foundations.
