Grantmakers Information Technology Survey Report
IV. Snapshots by Foundation Type
B. Corporate Grantmakers Snapshot

There were 22 corporate grantmakers in this snapshot (Table A 1). For purposes of
reporting the survey results, we have joined together corporate foundations (15), direct
corporate giving programs (4) and combined programs (3).
Forty one percent of corporate grantmakers reported have in house technical support,
which is higher than the percentage of community foundations reporting in house
technical support. An additional 23 percent reported that the finance/administrative staff
is responsible for technology (Table A 2). Differing from all other scenarios, corporate
foundations reported a fairly large percentage of other being responsible for
technology.
Person Responsible for IT (n = 22) *
1 In house technical staff (full or part time)
2 Finance/administrative staff
3 Executive Director/CEO
4 Consultants
6 Other
* n = number of respondents
The primary role and responsibility of the information technology director was network
administration. Unlike all other foundation types, most corporate grantmakers did not
indicate that technology staff had other roles and responsibilities.
