D. Small Foundations Snapshot (less than $10 million)

Small foundations lag behind the other foundations when comparing the total number of 

leading edge and fast followers, with 66 percent of small foundations reporting to be 

either a leading edge or fast follower technology adopter (Table A 3). However, there is 

not as significant a difference as one might expect between large, medium and small 

foundation technology adoption. Similar to medium foundations, a small percentage (5%) 

of small foundations reported they are in trouble with respect to technology.  

Lagging behind the other foundation sizes, only 11 percent of small foundations have 

technology plans (Table A 4).
